[ well, if daisy is with strange, she's in better hands (metaphorically...) than his own. part of his tension dissipates. part. the idea that daisy was reckless doesn't necessarily surprise him (though he'll reserve judgment until he speaks with her himself), but it does frighten him.
she made it clear she was willing to leave them here, to disappear and ignore his calls as she's done with the whole of the team before. however, being taken from them is different — final. it's yet another thing to worry about.
he thought they were stronger than this. no, you're weak. worry knots his stomach, threatening to distract him from important work. . ]
She's lucky to be alive.
[ he doesn't mean it cruelly; it's just thought-to-text functioning at rapid speed. his team of four experienced and superpowered operatives barely withstood a stand-off against multiple soldiers. ]
I'll be in contact with Strange. Thank you.
[ for being there for her. he knows he couldn't have been, not in whatever way illya managed. ]
[ he feels lucky, too. dimly, at the back of his mind. losing her would be — no, he can't consider it. there's no time. fitz tries his damnedest to choke out the concern, even as he opens messages to strange and daisy in separate windows. what can he say? ]
I will.
[ illya is steadfast, proving himself to be even more dependable than fitz first suspected, with this update. ]
No one hospitalised. Some serious injuries sustained, but our powers saved us from the worst of it. I've researched them. They're known for their lifetime consignment. And feared by all.
I would expect no less from a place like this. I watched them almost kill someone and they are not the most dangerous entity out there. It is not even surprising.
Yes. I was able to acquire some help with training and used them a few times to both break open doors and incapacitate soldiers when I could not get to a weapon. It is still strange to have them but the training and the fighting rings are helping with control.

[ and whenever he allowed himself to go see her, he would probably tell her that. ]
You're welcome. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

I will.

Are you alright?

[ his hand was broken but that was not important. ]
Are you?
no subject
[ rib broken, brain scattered. sure, fine. ]
How'd you find the soldiers?
no subject
Daisy got it into her head that she could take them all on herself despite me asking her to not leave. She left anyway.
[ maybe he was a little angry about it. ]
no subject
he'll be sure to pass it on to bobbi, during their hellish debrief. can't be sure how he feels about it, at present, with his head in disarray. ]
I see.
Did you fight any of the UNA yourself?

[ and once or twice, he'd done something a little risky but he hadn't gone out into a group of soldiers. he could say that. ]
Just one so we would not have to take a longer way to the safehouse. I caught unawares and was fine.
[ besides the broken hand. ]

They gave my team quite the challenge, five on four.
[ he wouldn't want to repeat the experience. ]

And everyone came out of it all right, though? No injuries? No one hospitalized? Have you seen these soldiers before?

I've researched them. They're known for their lifetime consignment. And feared by all.
no subject
I have known people like that.
[ wasn't easy to get out of the communist party with your life intact. ]
I am glad to hear everyone is alive. It could have been worse.

And I don't even think they're the threat that held us for a time.
There are multiple dangers in the field.
[ deadly pieces all over the board, moving independently. ]

Can I ask if the anger was something you dealt with before coming here?
[ for his ongoing powers analysis mmm hmm ]
no subject
Yes. For the majority of my life.
[ you should see his dossier. ]

I wonder if all our powers tie into who we are, in some way.

Portal-based teleportation.
As long as I can see it, I can get us from point A to point B.

I re-opened it and dove through to go get her.
So, yeah.
