Hi, Fitz. It's Clarke. You can see that, but—anyway. This is likely a bit of a surprise, but I'd like to talk to you more about whether or not you think amnesia or time travel could be an answer for some of the phenomena that I've been seeing with the newcomers.

[ they celebrate, as the occasion demands, but daisy opts to wait to give him his present. it comes in the dead of night, well after everyone's gone to sleep — "it" being the soft sound of her feet, padding across the hallway, two hands clasping something tightly behind her back.
the door's open, so she doesn't need to wake him to leave the gift; the small box is nestled on his desk to be found when he wakes, a metal collection of repurposed gears and parts to create a truly personalized piece of security. it'll take time and careful handling to eventually open up, but once fitz manages, he'll find a single piece of recycled metal sheeting resting inside, upon which an old-fashioned qr code is imprinted.
scan it, and he'll be provided a link to a digital filesafe, where one of daisy's memories has been mapped out thanks to newfangled holographic technology. said memory displays in vivid color around the watcher: jemma and fitz in the lab, nattering on about scientific mumbo jumbo, from daisy's point of view. the memory is short, barely more than a few minutes' worth, but hopefully it's enough. something, at the very least.
on the back of the card? happy birthday, fitz. she opts not to leave a signature. ]

In case you happen to come knocking, I've decided to relocate.
[ AKA she's leaving the safehouse. She was going to eventually, likely by the end of the month when she'd saved up enough to put a down payment on a modest studio apartment somewhere in the city proper. But with the recent noise on the network following that murder disaster and the talk of needing to uproot for safety, as well as just the influx of new occupants on top of the sometimes-rowdy old...
It was the wiser choice to move her timeline up by a few weeks. ]

While we were out trying to get two children back to the safehouse, Daisy was injured.
[ because she was an idiot. ]
She's receiving medical care but I thought you would like to know since she is in no condition to tell you herself.
[ did he mention the dumbness of what she'd done? ]
